Why Study the 20th Century?


The 20th century is a very important era in history as many major advancements occurred during this period. The 20th century was a great age of discovery and invention. Man discovered everything from how to destroy an entire nation with one chemical weapon to how to put a man on the moon. During the 20th century man also created many new inventions that make everyday life easier and more practical, for example, the automobile, the toaster oven and the airplane. During the 20th century great things also happened for equality. Black people were given the same rights as whites, and women’s rights took a giant step forward for equality. There have been many changes to our overall culture. The 20th century has changed every thing from the way we eat to the way we spend our time and entertain ourselves. It is extremely important to study the 20th centaury as it has influenced our daily lives in so many ways.

The 20th century has seen vast changes in the way we live. It is extremely important to study all of the events that took place during the 20th century to fully understand how the world came to be the way it is, and to fully understand what might happen in the future. By studying events such as wars and natural disasters that occurred in the 20th century, we can begin to understand how countries may act in similar situations in the future and even how severe storms might be in the 21st century
